Attention Class of 2017: Your Senior Portraits have been scheduled for May 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Please check the list outside the main office for the time and date of your appointment. You will also be notified by a post card mailed to your home.

Attention all seniors: senior prom tickets are available on My School Bucks. The price is $105 per person.
If there is any students in 9th through 11th grade who is looking for community service and has a technical background please see Coach Mileti. We are looking for someone that can help run the Football website. Please see Coach Mileti and or email him at his school email address.
Community service opportunities are available for the Maria McNamee Memorial Run. Please sign up in the main office and sign in and out the day of the race.

Attention Seniors: Please bring your acceptance or rejection letters from colleges that you have applied, to the counseling office.

The Boys Varsity Tennis Team defeated East Islip 6-1 Thursday. Winning for the Lions were Marty Racanelli, Sean Moran, Rich Racanelli, Artie Singer, Mike Felice, Zach Keogh, Jack Johnson and Connor Downey. Congratulations.

Any student who needs to up-date their Lifeguard or CPR Certification should see Mr. Dooley in the High School Pool for an informational flyer or go on the school district Web Page under students and after-school activities to print out the flyer. The course will start on Tuesday May 10th after school at 2:15 in the pool. If you have any questions please see Mr. Dooley.

Attention Seniors: If your SAT or ACT score qualifies you for the 1300/1950 Club, please fill out the form in the counseling office and give it to your counselor to ensure your recognition at graduation.



Thursday April 21, 2016 - Blue Day
Attention Seniors: If you attended Udall Middle School please apply for the Udall Road Middle School Scholarship. Applications are available in the Counseling Office. Deadline is May 6th. Also, please check in the counseling office for applications for other scholarship opportunities including Women of West Islip and Deputy Chief Ray Downey Memorial Scholarship.

Spectrum announces our second Smash Brothers Melee’ Tournament. Entry is $8. The battle begins tonight in Cafeteria A/B promptly at 6:30.

This is the last week to order lifeguard shirts. Please bring the money to Mrs. Storan in the ISS room.

It's ice cream time! Come to Hershey's on Thursday between 6pm-9:30pm (no flyer needed!) and WI Thirst Project will earn 20% of your bill. Bring a friend, the girlfriend /the boyfriend, the team, the fam and help us celebrate the beautiful spring weather with some premium ice cream.

The JV baseball team defeated Huntington yesterday 13 to 7. Anthony Cinquemani pitched 5 innings striking out 4 to earn the win. Cinquemani also led the offense going 2 for 4 with 4 RBI's and Nick Siano went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's. The win was an entire team effort. With yesterday's victory the team is now 9 and 2 on the season. Great job boys.

Rachel Wandzilak pitched another gem yesterday and also had 3 hits with 2 RBI’s to lead the Varsity Softball Team over Riverhead by a score of 15-2. Also contributing to the offense was Alyssa Adams who had 4 hits and 2 RBI’s, Kiersten Comer who had 2 hits and 4 RBI’s, Gianna Raimondi had 3 hits and 1 RBI, Erin Schweers had 3 hits and 2 RBI’s, Stephanie Neglia had 2 hits, and Brianna Adams had a hit. The Lions record is now 8 and 2. They play their next game Friday at home against North Babylon. Come out and support your team!

The Varsity Baseball Team defeated Huntington yesterday 14-3. James Kory pitched six innings scattering four hits and striking out 11 batters. At the plate the Lions were led by Lou Antos, Jake Guercio, James Kory and Joe Valentino. The team is now 9-2.

Wednesday April 20, 2016 - Gold Day
In 2017 students will be traveling over the April break to the magical cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. If you are interested in joining us as we discover a truly amazing part of the world, please bring your parents to an informational meeting tonight, Wednesday April 20th at 6:00pm in room 209. If you can’t make the meeting, see Mr. O’Hare in room 209 for a travel packet.

ALL students attending the FBLA trip must attend a mandatory meeting today, April 20 to discuss the trip and distribute permission slips. This is a mandatory meeting and all must attend.

Deputy Chief Ray Downey Charity Scholarship applications are now available in the counseling office. If have a family member who is a NYC firefighter, first responder at 9/11 or civil servant you are encouraged to apply for this award. Deadline is May 23rd.

Attention all students 16 years and older: Registration forms are now available for Summer Drivers Education. Applications can be picked up in the main office and on the Driver Education eBoard. Registration will take place on Wednesday, May 18th and Thursday, May 19th in the lobby of the auditorium. A copy of your learner’s permit or junior license and a check are required to register. All dates for lecture and driving sessions are mandatory. Please check your schedules to ensure you do not have conflicts before registering. Please contact Mrs. Martinolich at Beach Street with any questions.

R.E.A.L. will meet today at 2:30 in the library instruction room.

MSG Varsity will be covering our Varsity Boys Lacrosse game today, Wednesday, April 20th at 4:30pm against Commack. Come out and support the Lions! If you can’t attend the game, watch it live on MSGVarsity.com or on the MSG Varsity app.

Volunteers are needed for the Annual Elizabeth T. McNamee Memorial 5K event Sunday May 8th.at 8am. Help is also needed on Friday evening at 7:00pm on May 6th and Saturday May 7th at 10:00am. Sign-up sheet is in the Main Office. Any student that participates will earn community service credit. Please make sure to also sign in and out on the day of the race to receive your community service credit.

Women of West Islip Scholarship applications are available in the Counseling Office. Deadline is May 6th.

Yesterday, the girls track team improved their record to 4-1 with a win against Bellport. West Islip swept all points finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in many events. These events include Sam Jenks, Rachel Denzler, and Shannon O'Rourke in triple jump, Hanna Battaglini, Amanda Iasparo, and Cayla Romano in 100 meter hurdles, and Klaire Klemens, Erin Lettieri, and Krista O'Connor in the 3000. Great Job girls, good luck Thursday against Half Hollow Hills West.

The JV baseball team defeated Huntington yesterday 7 to 2. Mike LaDonna pitched a complete game allowing no earned runs and striking out 8 to earn the win. The offense was led by Jimmy Celano who went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Jack Altieri, Mike LaDonna, Anthony Ippolito, and Matt Walsh each had an RBI. With the win the team is now 8 and 2 on the season. Great win boys.

The girls JV softball team improved their record to 6 and 2 with a 6-4 win over North Babylon yesterday. The offense continues to be led by Julianna Budriss who drove in two runs with a double yesterday. Julianna has now has extra base hits in the last 4 games including a grand slam homerun over the fence, 2 triples, 2 doubles, and is leading the team with 18 RBIs. Caitlyn Leibman and Sam Landri had 2 RBIs each to lead the Lions to the come from behind victory. Lauren Weber pitched a great game, stranding North Babylon runners, and picking up the win.
The next home game is tomorrow at 4:30 against Riverhead. Come out and support the team!
R.E.A.L. will meet tomorrow at 2:30 in the library instruction room.



Monday April 18, 2016 - Gold Day
Attention ALL members of the National Honor Society, including juniors and seniors! You must pick up a flier outside of Mrs. Gifford's room, 289 to receive information about the end of year project and tutoring hour sheets. Please also make sure that all have signed into the Remind 101 account.

On Saturday, the girls track team competed in the Joe Brandy relay meet. Amanda Iasparo and Hanna Battaglini won the 2x 100 Meter hurdle really, setting a new school record of 32.2 seconds. Klaire Klemens and Krista O'Connor won the 2x steeple chase relay, also setting a new school record. Other great performances were Amanda Iasparo and Kate Kohler placing 3rd in the 2 x 400 meter hurdle relay, Brittany Blindenhofer, Hanna Battaglini, Victoria Johnson, and Christine Delianne placing 4th in the 4 x 100, Shannon Horan, Kayla Schmadtke, Krista O'Connor, and Klaire Klemens in the 4x800, Kayla Schmadtke and Helen Filosa placing 6th, and Amanda Iasparo and Julianna Moses placing 4th in the 2x high jump relay. Great job and good luck today against Bellport.

The Varsity Baseball Team defeated Centereach on Saturday 13-2. Kyle O'Neill earned his first varsity win by pitching four innings allowing no earned runs and striking out 8. Nick Valenti had 5 RBI's and hit a three run homerun in the 4th to break the game open. Jimmy Mattera had a great day at the plate recording two hits and was a terror on the basepath. The team is now 7-2.
