Any student interested in attending BOCES must participate in the BOCES field trip February 1st, 2017. Please meet with your counselor today for registration information. Today is the deadline.

Students who are interested in play a spring sport must sign up today in Physical Education Class. See your Physical Education Teacher for details.

All Science Olympiad team members see Miss Tong in Rm. 236 for paperwork periods 1-3 or afterschool.
Junior Banquet tickets are on sale now until February 5th on My School Bucks. Permission slips are available in the main office and must be returned to Ms. Saadat or Ms. Colonna by Feb. 6th.

Attention Seniors: Senior Yearbook photos have been posted outside the main office. Please confirm the spelling of your name, you are the baby in the picture, and if there are any errors in your quote. Please email the yearbook email with any corrections.

Help save a life! The Class of 2017 will be hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, January 31st in the Girls Gym. Students and staff are encouraged to donate. All students 17 years old and older can donate. Students who are 16 years of age can donate with signed permission slip. Class of 2017 will be outside Cafe A/B today, as well as Monday, January 30th during all lunch periods with all the information you will need. You MUST make an appointment to donate during a free period. Your pass Blood Drive pass will be your appointment card.

Keep Islip Clean will be collecting cards of any type left over from this holiday season to the main office. Drop off boxes are available in the library and main office. cards will be used to benefit St. Jude’s Ranch for Children and for U.S. troops overseas. This is an important cause and we hope you can donate.

Regents Review classes are now being held for the January 26th Geometry Regents exam in room 134A. See your Math teacher or School Counselor for additional information.

Reminder: The ninth grade orientation is on Monday, January 23. Those members of National Honor Society who volunteered should meet Mrs. Summers and Mrs. Gifford by the auditorium by 6:45.

Seniors who are active in community service are invited to apply for the Women of West Islip Scholarship. Applications are available in the counseling office.

Good Morning. Today is Thursday, January 19th. It is a BLUE day. Please stand for the pledge.

West Islip High School will be having its first ever Chess Tournament after school in the library during the week of February 6th. All abilities are welcome! Who will be crowned as the school champ? It could be you! Sign-ups are free. Please see Mrs. Maniscalco or Mr. Grover to register or to find out more information about the chess tournament.

Suffolk Community College will be coming to the High School for On-Site Registration Thursday, February 9th and Friday, February 10th If you are interested in participating please make sure you sign up in the counseling office and provide your counselor with all the required materials no later than Wednesday February 8th.

West Islip Students With Heartt will be selling our yearly Teddy Bear Grams for Valentine’s Day for Angela’s House. Starting next week during Lunch Periods 4,5,6,7,8. Send someone special a note of friendship and love. Teddy bears come with cards/poem and will be delivered to your special someone during 1st and 8th periods.
The West Islip Wrestling Team defeated Holy Trinity last night 50 to 25.

JV Boys Lacrosse tonight in the boys gym at 6:45. We will start at 7pm.

The Girls Varsity Bowling Team defeated Copiague yesterday. Danielle Ferruggiari bowled a strong 201 and 202 with a 567 series winning all match games. Megan Kerrigan bowled an incredible 198 winning all her match games. Kira Cornibert rolled a high of 185 to win her match. Great scores that secured the win. Great job girls!

Congratulations to the Varsity Cheerleaders for placing 2nd this weekend at their competition in Northport. Great job ladies earning your highest score to date! Come and show your support at their next competition at Hauppauge High School.

On Thursday night the Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated North Babylon by the score of 57 to 55 raising their record in League 3 to 4 wins and 2 losses. The lady Lions were led by Peyton Ryan who scored 27 points and Isabella Greenwald who helped seal the victory with 5 points in the final minute and a half. Great job girls and good luck today against Copiague.
