West Islip Thirst Project will be hosting their annual Teachers vs. Students Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday, December 6th from 7:00-9:00 pm! The tournament will take place in the girls gym. Admission is $2 each to watch and $5 each to play and sign-ups are outside of room 183. Each team can have NO MORE THAN 2 Varsity Volleyball players (girls or boys). The winning team will receive gift cards to a local eatery! That's Tuesday, December 6th Teachers vs. Students Volleyball tournament! See you there!
The Class of 2019's Scavenger Hunt will take place on Friday, December 9th. The cost is $5.00 per person, and teams of 5 must be formed. You can pick up permission slips for the event in room 223. If you are interested in participating please make sure you sign up in the counseling office and provide your counselor with all the required materials no later than Monday December 5th.

Attention all Seniors! St. Joseph's College will be coming to the High School for On-Site Registration Thursday, December 8th If you are interested in participating please make sure you sign up in the counseling office and provide your counselor with all the required materials no later than Wednesday December 7th.
The Helping Hands in West Islip 26th annual toy drive is Wednesday December 7th after school at the firehouse on Union Blvd. We need high school students to supervise the younger children at gift wrap stations and to unload cars bringing donations. Community service hours will be given.
The Paul J. Bellew Elementary School is seeking 20 to 30 HS & JHS volunteers for its annual PTA-sponsored Winter Breakfast being held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 8:00 am to 11:30 am at the school.
Community service hours are available for setup the night before from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and setup and clean up the day of the breakfast from 8:00 am to 11:30 am. Please call or text Valerie Slonecki at 631-804-1311 to volunteer for setup for the night before and/or setup/clean up the day of the event.
Attention all 9th, 10th, and 11th graders interested in auditioning for the One Act Plays directed by our talented Seniors! Auditions will be held immediately after school on Tuesday, December 6th in the upstairs library. Break a leg!
Attention Students, Faculty & Staff: Come write your holiday wish and support Macy’s Believe Campaign. For every wish submitted, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make a Wish foundation. Please come to the Counseling Office to complete the form and place in the gift box by December 8th.
Attention Senior Mathletes: Our next meet will be Monday, December 5th. We will be departing school at 1:45 from the fitness center. If you cannot attend, please see Mr. Como or Mrs. Yost.
R.E.A.L. will meet today in the library instructional room right after school.
Attention Seniors: Please bring your acceptance and rejection letters from colleges that you have applied to the counseling office.
The Boy's Varsity Bowling Team kicked off their season with a solid effort by all. There were outstanding performances by Nick DelOrfano who bowled a 214 and a 203 winning 2 game points, Conor Greene who rolled a 225 winning a game point, and Isaiah Rodriguez who one 2 game points. Well done boys!
The Boys Varsity Basketball team kicked off the season with an impressive 50-42 home win over local rival Babylon at home yesterday. The Lions led the entire game and held on for the victory at the end. Jake Russo led all scorers with 15 points, while Joe Valentino chipped in with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Joe Diggle added 9 points and Brendan Walsh had 8. The Lions play at Miller Place on Tuesday and are home next Friday, December 9th, against Islip.
Attention all new and returning members of the GSA: The GSA will meet after school today, Friday December 2 in room 206 Ms. Perperis's room directly after school. We have a very special guest speaker coming to present. Don't miss this meeting and amazing presentation! New members of the GSA are always welcome.

The Class of 2018 will be hosting a holiday movie night tonight at 6pm. This year we will be showing “The Santa Clause 2” featuring Tim Allen. We hope to see you there for a night of holiday fun to kick off the season.

HEARTT is looking for white bread donations for the Peanut Butter Jelly Gang to feed the homeless. Please bring your items to room 298 today.

There will be a Sports Marketing Club meeting today December 1st at 2:15pm in room 108 for all members and all new members.

The Boys Varsity Basketball Team opens up their season tonight with a home game against local rival Babylon at 5:45pm. The JV game begins prior at 4pm. Come out and support the Lions.
