Attention all seniors: It is time to vote for Senior Superlatives!! Who is "most likely to succeed" who has the "best hair'? Make your voice heard and register to vote for the senior superlatives. In order to vote for Senior Superlatives, you must register at the website on the yearbook eboard before March 1. This deadline will not be extended.  Once you register, you will receive a link from survey monkey that you must use to vote. You can only vote once. Voting will open on March 2nd and close on March 11th. This deadline will not be extended.
Thursday February 11, 2016 - Blue Day
The WI HS PTSA will be hosting a dodgeball tournament tonight Thursday Feb. 11th at 7 o'clock in the girls gym. Please come down with teams of six for a great night of fun.

Attention all wrestlers their will be a brief mandatory meeting today after school in room 186. Everyone must attend.

Have a heart and take a guess! Students and teachers can guess how many hearts are in the jar. If you are correct, you win the Valentine basket. Two guesses cost one dollar. Guesses will be taken in front of cafeteria A&B during lunch periods. Good luck!

Congrats to the West Islip Boys Track and Field Team for competing at the State Qualifier Meet last night. They had many outstanding performances by jimmy M. in the high jump, jumping an all time best of 6 feet 2 inches, Darius Benton in the 600m dash with a new school record of 1:23:19, furthermore the 4x800 team of Mike M., Charles H., Dan C. and Kyle K ran a great time of 8:00 with all these great performances. All the boys are now All County and will be heading up to States on March 5th at Cornell University.

Wednesday February 10, 2016 - Gold Day
Senior Mathlete Competition has been rescheduled. The new date is February 29th.


There will be a meeting for all boys trying out for Varsity and JV tennis today Wednesday February 10th at 2:15 in room 135.

The Class of 2017 is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a Valentine’s Day Bagel Breakfast for a lucky 1st period class! Tickets are $1.00 each. A winner will be announced on Thursday, February 11th and the bagel breakfast will be served on Friday, February 12th. See Ms. Cifelli, Mrs. Nohowec, or a member of the Class2017 for tickets. Support the Class of 2017 and buy a raffle!

Attention ALL 9TH Grade FRESHMAN MATHLETES: The Fifth 9th Grade Mathlete Meet is being held today Tuesday February 9th. All 9th grade freshman mathletes should meet Mr. Michel at 2:15 pm in room 235 on Tuesday, before heading down to the bus for departure to Udall. If you cannot attend the meeting on Tuesday, contact Mr. Michel in room 235 sometime throughout the school day today.

There will a Sports Marketing Club meeting today, February 9th at 2:15pm in room 108. Officers, members, and new members please attend. Our fundraiser “Lip Sync Battle: Teachers vs. Students” will be discussed.

Attention all Juniors: Junior Banquet is almost here! This year’s banquet will be held on Friday, March 11th at Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook. Junior Banquet is for members of the Class of 2017 only. Tickets will be $85 and will go on sale only on MySchoolBucks beginning Monday, January 25th and ending Friday, March 4th. Your bus assignment will be determined by the order in which tickets are purchased on MySchoolBucks. If you want to increase the likelihood of being seated on a bus with friends, please be sure to purchase tickets at the same time. Additional permission slips and information will be available in the Main Office. All permission slips must be handed in to Miss Cifelli or Mrs. Nohowec no later than Friday, March 4th.

Attention all Senior Mathletes: We will be having our last Senior Mathletes Competition of the year on Monday, February 8th. Please meet promptly at the fitness Center at 1:45pm to catch the bus. We would like to see a good turnout for our last competition. Please see Mr. Como or Mrs. Yost if you cannot attend.

Congratulations to the Boys Swimming and Diving Team for their 3rd place finish at the League III Championships. Senior Nick Galeto took a 1st place finish in the 100 yard Backstroke and Junior Patrick Carter took his 4th straight League Championship in the 1 meter Dive.

Congrats to the West Islip Boys Track and Field and 4x800 team of Mike M., Kyle K., Charles H., and Dan C. They competed on Saturday at the Armory. They ran a new Suffolk county record of 7:50:01 which also broke the original school record of 7:54 With the time they ran; this now puts them as #1 in high school track.
