THE JV BASEBALL TEAM IMPROVED THEIR RECORD TO 6 AND 1 WITH A 10 TO 6 VICTORY OVER NORTH BABYLON YESTERDAY. JIMMY MATTERA PITCHED 6 INNINGS ALLOWING 6 HITS AND NO EARNED RUNS AND NOLAN SANTO PITCHED THE 7TH INNING TO PRESERVE THE WIN FOR THE LIONS. LEADING THE OFFENSE WAS NICK VALENTI WHO WENT 1 FOR 3 WITH 5 RBI’S AND JONNY RISEDORF WENT 1 FOR 3 WITH 3 RUNS SCORED. THE WIN WAS A GREAT TEAM EFFORT. GREAT JOB BOYS!

THE VARSITY BASEBALL TEAM DEFEATED NORTH BABYLON YESTERDAY 3-2. NICK ARNOLD PITCHED A COMPLETE GAME SCATTERING SIX HITS AND STRIKING OUT SIX. THE LIONS WERE LED AT THE PLATE BY SAM ILARIO AND BRENDON EMIGHOLZ WHO WERE BOTH 3 FOR 3. THE TEAM IS NOW 6-1. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BOYS ON A GREAT TEAM EFFORT.

KEVIN DICAPUA DROVE IN JIMMY MATTERA IN THE TOP OF THE 8TH INNING FOR THE GO AHEAD RUN. JONNY RISEFORF CAME IN RELIEF TO PITCH A SCORELESS 8TH TO EARN THE WIN. BRANDON ISOLANO PITCHED 3 INNINGS WITHOUT ALLOWING AN EARNED RUN TO KEEP THE LIONS IN THE GAME. GREAT WIN BOYS!

YESTERDAY THE BOYS VARSITY TRACK AND FIELD TEAM DEFEATED SMITHTOWN EAST BY THE SCORE OF 84.5 TO 56.5 HIGHLIGHTING THE VICTORY FOR THE LIONS WAS THE MILE TEAM OF KYLE KELLY, CRAIG NELSON AND SCOTT NELSON. KYLE RAN HIS MILE IN 4 MIN 29 SECONDS CRAIG RAN HIS MILE IN 4 MIN 33 SECONDS. ALSO CONTRIBUTING TO THE VICTORY WERE PIOTR WLODKOWSKI WHO WON THE 400 METER WITH A TIME OF 51.2 SECONDS AND JESSE MATTERA WHO WON THE POLE VAULT AND THE HIGH JUMP WITH A HEIGHT OF 5 FEET 10 INCHES.
