Every fall, the West Islip Counseling Department invites local colleges and universities to meet with interested students for our on-site registration days. Throughout November, admissions representatives from local colleges will meet with seniors for approximately 15 minutes each to review their application, transcript, required test scores and any additional material they may have. Decisions may be made immediately and scholarships may be awarded on the spot.

Most colleges will waive their application fees and the wait for a decision that is associated with the traditional application process is often eliminated. Students may register for on-site registration at least two weeks prior to each college’s registration date. At that time, applications may be picked up and must be filled out and handed in to your counselor the day before the school is scheduled to be here for on-site registration. We encourage our students to take advantage of this opportunity to meet one-on-one with an admissions counselor. It is always a successful event at West Islip High School.
