Kindergarten Registration
kindergarten registrationRegistration of eligible kindergarten students takes place in each elementary school annually. In accordance with established policy of the West Islip School District, children must be five (5) years of age on or before December 1 in order to be enrolled in kindergarten for the coming year.

At the time of registration, a parent/guardian must present school officials with an original birth certificate, proof of residence, and a Certificate of Immunization. The building school nurse will review the immunization documentation for completeness. No student will be admitted to school without the required immunizations.

Kindergarten Registration will be held for the 2011-2012 school year on the dates below.

Proof of Residence

The Board of Education requires that positive proof of residence in this district be submitted when students are registered.
If you are a homeowner, you will be required to answer section (A). If you are renting or maintain a residence with a relative or friend, you will be required to answer section (B).

Please bring the requested documents with you when you register your child for school.
Please respond to Number 1 and three other items:
  1. Mortgage statement from bank or a deed
  2. County and School Tax receipts
  3. Long Island Power Authority bill
  4. Telephone bill
  5. Bank Statement.
  6. Voter Registration document
  7. Driver's license.

Please respond to Number 1 and Number 2 and three other items:

  1. House or apartment rent receipt or lease with the owner's signature notarized. (Required with each lease renewal.)
  2. Notarized statement from relative or friend confirming your residency in the home. (Required annually.)
  3. Long Island Power Authority bill
  4. Telephone bill
  5. Bank Statement.
  6. Voter Registration document
  7. Driver's license
