Prior to the holiday break, students in Justin DeMaio’s class at Bayview participated in a STEM project where they designed and built decorated sleighs that would slide down a ramp. Each sleigh had to stay on the ramp and land without dumping the cargo of Christmas “gifts”. Students experimented with ramps at three differing heights and decided which one propelled their sleigh the best. Their presentations included showing how the sleigh traveled on the ramp.
