High school senior Joe Montiglio was recently recognized as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete and honored at a gala event at the Hyatt Regency Long Island in Hauppauge. Montiglio has a weighted average of 100, scored a 1,390 on the SAT, earned first-team All-Division honors and led his team to the Section XI county finals.

Montiglio was also recognized as a National Football Foundation Golden 11 award winner, making him one of 11 top Scholar-Athlete football players in the Suffolk County James Metzger NFF Chapter. Due to this honor, his name will be enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame.
