Showing their love and care for the Class of 2020, more than two dozen high school teachers and staff members recently volunteered to deliver lawn signs to the homes of this year’s seniors. Proudly dressed in the school colors of blue and gold, the educators gathered safely to decorate their cars before heading out for deliveries. Students were greeted with surprise visits from their teacher, guidance counselor or administrator, honking happily in their honor. Some students even were visited by the school’s Lion mascot.

The lawn sign fundraiser began back in January as one of the Class of 2020’s last big fundraisers of the school year. When the pandemic closed the school, the fundraiser was extended and continued. Senior class advisers Tara Annunziata and Alissa Nanda wanted to do something special for the seniors, and thought it would be fun to get other teachers involved and give them a chance to put smiles on their students’ faces.

“So many parents and students were overjoyed to see us at their doorstep after so many weeks,” said Annunziata.  “We want to thank all who volunteered to help make this delivery an overwhelming success. The Class of 2020 is a special class and will continue to be honored throughout the rest of the school year.”
