This year, the Helping Hands Club at Beach Street hosted its first
Soup-er Bowl drive. During the week leading up to the Super Bowl on Feb.
7, the club asked the school community for canned soup donations to be
placed in the decorated football team box – Bucs or Chiefs – of their
choice. The soup cans were later donated to a local food pantry.
“During these cold winter months, it is important to think of those
in need,” said school counselor Kathleen Crowley. “This hearty soup
drive was what giving back is all about.”
