Science research students from the high school and middle schools recently presented their culminating research projects at the annual West Islip Research Symposium. In attendance was New York State Assemblyman Mike LiPetri, who commended the students for their outstanding work.

Research seniors, many of whom participated in the program for all four years of high school, discussed their experiences, including work they performed as part of the SPARK program at Brookhaven National Laboratory and the Barcode Long Island program at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, as well as research they conducted in the high school’s research lab. The night culminated in a poster session where all students presented their research findings.
