Music students Kevin Mauri (alto saxophone), Liam Curley (trombone), Charles Salamone (trombone) and Sophia Stehlik (drum set) from Beach Street were recently selected to participate in the Suffolk County Music Educators Association All-County Instrumental Jazz Ensemble, marking a record number of West Islip students ever accepted into this prestigious group. The talented musicians, selected through competitive auditions, will perform at SCMEA’s Day of Jazz on Nov. 2 at East Islip High School.
