The West Islip girls varsity track and field team had an extremely positive spring season. The team continues to grow, and the dual meet season culminated with a win during the final relays. The team showed a competitive spirit, grit, great sportsmanship, and camaraderie, which was recognized by coaches and officials throughout Section XI. Qualifying for the Suffolk County meet was: Adilia Trim in the 100, 200, and 4x100; Madison Howley in the 2000 steeplechase; Addison O’Hara in shotput; Rowan Dorn in the high jump and 4x100; Morgan Bellini in the 400 and 4x100; Katelyn Mercorella in the 100 and 4x100; and Caitlyn Filiato in the 1500 racewalk. Congratulations to coaches Vin Melia and Sierra Koehler and the team on their accomplishments!
