Two high school divers – sophomore Kevin Kohlhoff and junior Kevin Nelson – recently qualified for the NYSPHSAA Boys Swimming and Diving Championships, to be held March 6-7 at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow.

Under the direction of diving coach Ed Jablonski, the two West Islip divers have continued to progress. A score of 450 is required to qualify for the state diving event; Nelson qualified at the Hauppauge Diving Invitational with an impressive score of 498.75, while Kohloff qualified at the West Islip Diving Invitational with a score of 479.05.
