Board of Education Information
The Board of Education has, in all respects the superintendence, management and control of the educational affairs of the District and has all the powers necessary to exercise these powers expressly granted to it by the laws of New York State and the Commissioner of Education.
The seven members of the school board are elected by the people of the district. They serve without pay for three-year terms.

School Board Recognition Week
In celebration of School Board Recognition Week, the West Islip School District administration recognized the hard work and dedication of its board members at the October 6, 2022 meeting. Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Paul Romanelli, thanked the board members for their support and presented them with a certificate that read “In grateful appreciation of your leadership, commitment and support of the District’s mission to improve the educational system for all students of the West Islip Union Free School District”.
