With an impressive time of 6:42.64, high school senior Isabella Rogler was named the Suffolk County champion in the 1,500-meter race walk on Feb. 10. Her performance qualified her for the NYSPHSAA Indoor Track and Field championships, to be held March 7 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.

Previously, Rogler had competed in the one-mile race walk at the 113th annual NYRR Millrose Games, held Feb. 8 at the Armory New Balance Track and Field Center in New York City. After receiving a waiver from the NYSPHSAA, she competed in this prestigious event against a mix of select high school students, college students and professional walkers, finishing sixth with a time of 7:01.60.

Rogler is now ranked second in the nation in the one-mile race walk and first in the 1,500-meter race walk for high school winter track athletes.
