High school senior soccer player Lauryn Schmidt, who led her team to a Suffolk County title in 2019 and deep into the playoffs this past season, was recently honored as the Class AA Suffolk County Player of the Year. Schmidt also earned All-County, All-State, Academic All-League, League IV Player of the Year and Newsday First Team All-Long Island recognition. She will continue her soccer career this fall at Marist College.
“To be recognized as the best player in Suffolk County, among so many talented athletes, is an incredible honor,” said Athletic Director Tim Horan. “It’s a credit to Lauryn’s commitment to excellence and all those who have supported her over the years.”
