The seventh- and eighth-grade students of Beach Street were asked an important question at the beginning of the school year, through their project-based learning class: “How can we make our school community a happier and healthier place?” Five students – Carolyn Arcoleo, Ava Davoult, Nicholas Esposito, Nicholas Maurio and Caelie Pappone – had an answer. This group’s project idea was an interactive mural, now on display in Beach Street’s main stairway. Students were able to prove through research that interactive murals could relieve student stress and anxiety and improve student motivation.
