From March 20-24, Paul J. Bellew Elementary School hosted a wide range of guest visitors to the school as part of its Career Day activities. From pilots to engineers to educators, chefs and nurses, the students heard about a variety of career paths to help kick start their minds about different opportunities. On March 20, West Islip School District’s Superintendent of Schools Dr. Paul Romanelli met with students to discuss his career and education and how he followed a path to eventually becoming a superintendent. He spoke about some of his first job experiences and the importance of building relationships, what he calls the secret to success. Following the presentation, Dr. Romanelli fielded questions from the eager elementary students.
