The first and second graders in the Thinking Caps Club at Oquenock Elementary School recently had a special visit from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Paul Romanelli. Dr. Romanelli read students “We Are the Gardeners” by Joanna Gaines. The book shared the message that the greatest rewards come from patience, hard work and learning from mistakes. Dr. Romanelli gifted each student a packet of seeds so they could nurture their own gardens at home. The Thinking Cap members and the superintendent then crafted their own bird feeders out of milk cartons that were decorated in their individual style.
