West Islip High School junior Sophia Stehlik was recently selected to the National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Honors Ensembles. This prestigious event includes the finest musicians from Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. The festival will take place in Rochester, New York, in April and will include concerts, master classes with professional musicians, rehearsals with their conductors, as well as opportunities to learn and network with colleges and universities.
