In observance of 9/11, Manetuck Elementary School began the day with a moment of silence. Throughout the school day, faculty and staff shared age-appropriate texts with students about Sept. 11 to spark conversations about resiliency and regrowth. Students each cut out a leaf, wrote their names and decorated their leaf. The leaves were used to adorn a tree in the school in the hallway, which stands as a symbol of withstanding and recovering from difficulties. Faculty and staff also cut and decorated leaves to adorn the tree.
