Students and staff throughout the West Islip Union Free School District celebrated College Awareness Day on June 4. Throughout the district, students, teachers and staff dressed in their college shirts and celebrated post-secondary plans. Elementary and middle school students learned about options post-graduation – including college, military and trade schools – as well as the importance of being a lifelong learner. Members of the Class of 2025 gathered in the gymnasium to spend time with their classmates and take a group photo in their college shirts. Seniors wrote their name and college on a pawprint. All the pawprints were included on the 2025 Decision Day banner.
