The West Islip varsity flag football team and coaches Greg Ziems and Jake Rossi completed another remarkable season. The Lions finished the regular season with an impressive 14 victories and etched their names into the history books by securing the program’s first-ever playoff win, a thrilling triumph over East Islip. Demonstrating determination and resilience, West Islip came within striking distance of upsetting the reigning county champions and New York State finalists, an extraordinary feat that highlights the strength of the Lions. Congratulations to the players, coaches and supporters who made this season one for the record books.
