Congratulations to West Islip High School students Nico Mastroddi, Nicholas Friedlander, Sean Koerner, Mason Plouffe, Charlie Roman, Giordana La Femina, Emilia Riviezzo and Evey Conroy for representing West Islip Union Free School District at the 17th annual Teenys Gala at Brentwood High School. The recognition awards feature the top high school theatre students from school districts in the Islip cluster. All students received nominations for various categories, and both the West Islip pit orchestra and ensemble from “Guys & Dolls” received awards. Sean Koerner and Mason Plouffe received pit musician awards while Evey Conroy and Emilia Riviezzo received Director's Choice awards. Charlie Roman was awarded best supporting actor in a musical and Giordana La Femina received the lead actress in a musical award and a scholarship.
