Bellew fifth grader Charlotte Ciano explored the science of food while making breadsticks at home. Her mother Kristen placed a drop of activated yeast and a drop of food coloring on a slide, and Charlotte viewed the budding yeast under her microscope. She then made yummy bread sticks with the yeast. She loved learning about how this microorganism makes the bread rise.
