Congratulations to West Islip Union Free School District’s former director of athletics Wayne Shierant and current director of athletics, physical education, health and recreation Timothy Horan on their recent recognitions by the New York State Athletic Administrators Association. Mr. Shierant was inducted into the NYSAAA Wall of Honor, and Mr. Horan received the NYSAAA Apple Award. For the past 30 years, the two have partnered with administration, coaches and the community to provide students with a positive, rewarding educational experience. NYSAAA also recognized Mr. Shierant in 2005 and Mr. Horan in 2017 as the NYSAAA Section XI Athletic Director of the Year.
