Oquenock Elementary School recently celebrated the 100th day of school with activities centered around the number 100. The school also decided to give back to their local community with an essential needs drive. Their goal was to collect 100 essential items to help those in need. Students and staff contributed with items such as shampoo, conditioner, paper towels, soap, tissues, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sponges, deodorant and baby care items. The collection drive ran from Feb. 6-13, and the school was able to donate hundreds of items to the West Islip Essential Needs Pantry.
