On Feb. 6, members of the ALS Ride for Life organization visited Manetuck Elementary School for an assembly for the third, fourth and fifth grade classes. Coordinator Barbara Brown spoke to students about the organization, now in its 25th year, and its mission to find a cure for ALS. Members of the Ride for Life travel across Long Island each year and have raised more than $10 million for the cause. The assembly taught students how to persevere in the face of adversity despite challenges.
