Congratulations to the West Islip varsity wrestling team and coach LaGiglia and coach Ferrara on another impressive season. The Lions continued to excel at the League 4 Wrestling Tournament. The team placed third, and 10 wrestlers earned All-League honors, securing their spots in the Section XI tournament at SUNY Stony Brook. Congratulations to Paul Vasaturo (second place); Mike Cea (second place); James Rogler (second place); Orson Munoz (third place); Dan Alini (third place); Leo Mastroberti (third place); Maceo Blumberg (fourth place); Joe Delgado (fourth place); James Moore (fourth place); and Joe Saladino (fourth place).

James Rogler was chosen by his teammates as the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the League 4 Wrestling Tournament. James Moore was selected by the League 4 coaches as the League Dual Meet Most Outstanding Wrestler for both his outstanding performance and sacrifice for the benefit of the team. Moore will lead all of the League 4 wrestlers in the Parade of Champions during the Section XI tournament and will also be honored at the All-County dinner in April. Go Lions!
