Once again, West Islip had the largest representation at the 37th annual Day of Tuba, sending a record 25 students to the Central Islip event featuring various clinics, rehearsals, vendors, a master class and an evening concert featuring approximately 200 students in a massed ensemble.

Aspiring West Islip musicians who participated ranged from grades 5-12 and included students from Bayview, Bellew, Manetuck and Oquenock elementary schools; Beach Street and Udall middle schools; and the high school. Two high schoolers, Matt Cammarano and Evan Trommer, were selected to perform with the All-Star Ensemble.
