Three exceptional West Islip musicians – fifth grader Joy Reese of Bayview and sixth grader Mason Plouffe and eighth grader Alexandra Scourtos of Udall – were selected to receive 2019 Long Island String Festival Association scholarship awards to attend summer music programs. The students were selected based upon their NYSSMA scores, teacher recommendations and personal essays.
