The district has named Brian Taylor as the executive director of human resources, a new position.

Taylor had served for the last five years as West Islip’s director of science and engineering technology. He previously worked as administrative dean at Commack High School, a Regents and AP chemistry teacher at North Babylon High School, and a science teacher at the Mary Louis Academy in Queens and St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School in West Islip.

A resident of Center Moriches, Taylor earned his bachelor’s degree in science from Hampden-Sydney College, his master’s degree in liberal studies from Stony Brook University and an advanced graduate certificate in educational leadership from Stony Brook University.

“I look forward to continuing to create a community of learners that strive for understanding and empowerment for our students through inquiry and personalized learning,” Taylor said.
