The West Islip varsity unified basketball team wrapped up another unforgettable and impactful season under the leadership of coach Cohen and coach Mathews. Throughout the season, the Lions demonstrated incredible teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship, hallmarks of a program that continues to enrich the school community. This year’s team made continuous progress both on and off the court, building strong friendships, fostering inclusivity and creating a culture of mutual respect and support. Each game offered a powerful reminder of the true spirit of athletics: bringing people together and celebrating every individual’s strengths.
