Led by Principal Amanda Harvey, students and families at Oquenock Elementary School laced up their sneakers on Oct. 7 for Walk to School Day, a community event sponsored by the school's Parent-Teacher Association.
The initiative, part of the international Walk to School Day movement, encouraged students to start their day with physical activity while promoting pedestrian safety, environmental awareness and community connections. Families gathered at a designated meeting point before walking or biking together to school, creating a festive atmosphere that transformed the morning commute into a celebration. The event aligns with the school’s ongoing commitment to student wellness and community engagement.
