Dear West Islip Families,

The fast pace of life in today’s world, coupled with the unprecedented events of the past several years, makes it more important than ever for families to spend quality time together. Families who spend time together create strong bonds and cultivate open lines of communication which help to reduce risky behaviors and increase confidence in children.

To encourage and support quality family time, the West Islip School District will once again coordinate monthly ‘Family Connect Nights’ for the 2025-2026 school year. These designated nights will be a district wide initiative, focusing on family togetherness. To enhance these nights, staff are encouraged not to issue homework. Our hope is for families to prioritize activities that support positive connections. 

Please note the following Family Connect Nights for the 2025-2026 school year on your calendar. If you would like to share a snapshot with the district of an activity that your family engages in on one of these nights, please email it to the Office of the Superintendent at m.oconnor@wi.k12.ny.us.
