Austin D’Amico, an eighth grader at Udall Road Middle School, has been named a winner in the Every Child Reads Contest, sponsored by the New York State Parent-Teacher Association. The contest is open to elementary and middle school students. Students can create a video, poster or essay on the topic of “why is reading important for your health and wellness?” D’Amico sent in a short video and received a top 10 placement out of 145 applicants and a $50 Barnes and Nobles gift card.
