Middle School Students Explore Human Prehistory

Students in Mr. Loudon and Mrs. Canonico’s social studies classes at Udall Road Middle School are taking a fascinating journey back in time as they study human prehistory through the lens of ancient artifacts. As part of their lessons, students examined cave paintings and early inventions to better understand how early humans communicated, survived and built the foundations of society. The cave paintings featured handprints, sacred animals and tools, such as fire and spear points, symbols of survival and creativity that reveal much about the daily lives of early people. Through this hands-on exploration, students were able to connect classroom learning to the real-world story of human development. The activity sparked meaningful discussions about communication, adaptation and innovation, key themes that continue to shape the modern world.
