Manetuck Honors Veterans with Heartfelt Ceremony

Manetuck Elementary School held a touching Veterans Day celebration to honor local heroes on. Nov. 12. The event began with a meet-and-greet breakfast, where students and their invited veteran guests shared meaningful conversations and time together.
Following breakfast, guests and students gathered in the gymnasium for a special program. The Cub Scouts proudly opened the ceremony with a Color Guard presentation, setting a patriotic tone for the morning. Principal Vanessa Williams welcomed attendees and recognized veterans in attendance for their service and sacrifice.
Under the direction of music teacher Karen Isaksen-Taylor, students performed two patriotic tribute songs, filling the gym with pride and gratitude. Before concluding with a moment of silence and the playing of “Taps,” Principal Williams spoke to students about the importance of reflection and remembrance during this solemn moment.
The ceremony served as a meaningful opportunity for students to express their appreciation for the men and women who have selflessly served our country.
