Community Shines Bright at Second Annual Glow Run

The West Islip Health and Wellness Alliance recently hosted its second annual glow run, drawing more than 400 enthusiastic participants to the West Islip High School campus for an evening of health, fun and community spirit.
The event featured a ¾-mile illuminated route, where runners and walkers of all ages glowed under the stars. Held in conjunction with Family Connect Night, the glow run encouraged families to spend quality time together while promoting the importance of wellness and positive connections. Strengthening family and community bonds remains a key focus of the alliance.
The night was filled with energy, laughter and a strong sense of unity, as students, families, and volunteers came together to celebrate wellness in true West Islip spirit. Thanks to the Health and Wellness Committee, WIASA, community and student volunteers, West Islip emergency personnel, and the district’s custodial and grounds crews for their efforts in making the event such a success. The glow run’s continued growth reflects the community’s commitment to fostering a healthy, connected and caring environment for all.
