Udall’s International Festival Celebrates Diversity

In honor of National World Language Month, Udall Road Middle School held its annual International Festival on March 27, transforming the gymnasium into a vibrant hub of global learning and cultural exchange.
Organized by the English as a new language and world language departments, the event provided students across all grade levels with the opportunity to explore a wide range of cultures and languages through interactive, student-led booths. English language learners and world language students proudly represented countries from around the world, sharing information about traditions, customs, geography, language and daily life.
Each participant received a “passport” upon arrival, encouraging them to fully engage in the experience. As they visited each booth, students collected information, asked questions and recorded their learning. The activity culminated in a challenge where students answered questions based on what they had learned during their “travels,” with prizes awarded to those who demonstrated the most accurate knowledge.
The festival atmosphere was lively and engaging, with colorful displays, cultural artifacts and enthusiastic student presenters creating an immersive experience. The event not only celebrated the diversity within the school community but also empowered students to take pride in their heritage while learning about others.
Through this hands-on experience, students developed a deeper appreciation for different cultures and perspectives, reinforcing the importance of respect, inclusivity and global awareness.
