Bayview Fourth Graders Get Creative

Bayview Elementary School fourth graders in Ms. Field and Ms. Gonzalez’s class recently wrapped up their Arts & Letters module on the American Revolution with a creative and hands-on activity that brought their learning to life.
Throughout the unit, students explored the themes of patriotism, freedom and the pursuit of liberty while reflecting on the essential question: “How does the pursuit of freedom inspire people’s actions?”
After weeks of reading, discussion and learning about the American Revolution, students celebrated the completion of the module with a patriotic tie-dye T-shirt activity. The project allowed students to express their creativity while connecting their classroom learning to the symbols and ideas they studied throughout the unit. The activity provided a memorable way for students to reflect on the values of courage, determination and freedom while ending the module with a fun and meaningful experience.
