Udall Road Students Explore Hispanic Culture and Heritage

During Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15-Oct. 15, Udall Road Middle School is celebrating the rich cultures, histories and contributions of Hispanic communities through a variety of schoolwide activities.
Throughout the month, students are enjoying Hispanic music during homeroom, providing an opportunity to experience music from across the Spanish-speaking world. Each week, homerooms are also participating in a Hispanic culture trivia challenge, giving them the opportunity to learn interesting facts about Hispanic countries, traditions, history, language and notable individuals while competing as a class.
Students in Ms. Rocco’s Spanish language classes are contributing to the celebration by creating a “Together, We Fly” mural, featuring an array of cultural terms that represent Hispanic identity. Along with students in Ms. Drezner’s world language classes, Ms. Rocco’s students also completed short biography templates highlighting famous Hispanic individuals and their contributions to history, the arts, sports, science and other areas.
