Oquenock Laces Up for Walk to School Day

Oquenock Elementary School students, parents and staff laced up their sneakers on Oct. 6 for Walk to School Day, turning the morning commute into an opportunity to promote wellness, safety and community connection.
Sponsored by the school’s Parent-Teacher Association, the event brought families together at a designated meeting point before they walked or biked to school as a group. The morning encouraged students to begin their school day with physical activity while enjoying time together with classmates, families and members of the school community.
The event was part of the international Walk to School Day movement, which encourages students and families to incorporate walking and biking into their routines while raising awareness of pedestrian safety and environmental stewardship. Thank you to the PTA, families, students and staff for helping make Walk to School Day a successful celebration.
